Is the gameplay unresponsive for you? It may be this...

Do not use play.com ps2 adapters. They add massive lag to the game and the gameplay feels very sluggish.

I recommend getting a USB pad that plugs directly into your PC, or the following.

Get a printer port PS2 adapter. It has 0 lag: http://www.buynshop.com/productinfo/45/VG-PS-PS2PC4

Get a ps2 look-a-like pad here: EBAY LINK

Use a wired PS3 or Xbox360 pad.

Ive tried a wireless logitech and a usb PS3 pad with sixaxis driver. Both seem to have button lag during online play but im guessing its more the game than the controllers.

I use a direct usb pc contoller, and ive had some terrible lag, even strangely enough when I've hosted the room. They've definitely got a few bugs to iron out yet.................

It really does make the difference between a terrible game and a brilliant one. My first game, I played with a play.com adapter and it took forever to respond to my button presses. I really hated the game and was ready to jack it in straight away.

I then fixed up my printer port adapter and gave that a shot. I had 0 button delay and the game played brilliantly.

Seriously, do not play with ps2 USB adapters, they make the game play like shit.
